Summer is coming to an end but the fun doesn't have to stop! ☀

In honor of Rochester Downtown Alliance's last Thursday's Downtown of the season, we would like to highlight a young entrepreneur who participated in this year's Youth Booth! Addy, along with 50+ vendors, went beyond a lemonade stand, selling various crafts and creations from homemade earrings and lip balms to crocheted flower and mushroom keychains! 🌼🍄

✨Entrepreneur Spotlight✨

In their third year of hosting a lemonade stand, Nora, Layla, and Gwen were among many young entrepreneurs who donated a large portion of their profits to those in need. Their business model focused on being resourceful, limiting waste, and making a positive impact beyond simply selling lemonade. They understood that even small acts of kindness could create meaningful change and that their success was an opportunity to support others in their community.

The Landing Homeless Shelter was at the top of their list. They chose to direct their donations toward helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness, knowing that their efforts could provide support where it was needed most. Through their hard work, creativity, and compassion, Nora, Layla, and Gwen demonstrated that entrepreneurship is not only about building a business—it is also about using your talents and resources to make a difference. 💛

So with the money you have earned from Lemonade Day, will you choose to save it, spend it, or INVEST it back into your business? If you invest your money on purchasing more signs (or a bubble machine🫧), for example, this may help attract more customers which will result in a larger profit! 💛

"The most valuable thing I learned was confidence. English is not my first language, and I am usually shy about talking to people I do not know. At first, I was nervous about speaking to customers. But as more people stopped by and bought lemonade, I felt more comfortable and confident."
