Some gifts change lives. Others change you.

When you give to the Rochester Scottish Rite Children’s Foundation, you’re not just making a donation—you’re stepping into a child’s story at the moment they need someone most. Many of the children we help face challenges they never chose and cannot overcome alone. Your generosity becomes their voice, their confidence, their chance to thrive.

Giving matters because it transforms the giver as much as the receiver. It turns compassion into action. It aligns your values with your impact. It reminds you that you can make a difference—one child, one family, one moment of hope at a time.

Every contribution becomes something real: a therapy session, a breakthrough, a smile from a child who finally feels understood. You’re not just supporting a cause. You’re lifting a child. You’re shaping a future. You’re living the values we hold sacred.

And that is a gift no one else can give but you.

Did you known that during the American Civil War, enemy soldiers who recognized each other as Freemasons often helped and saved each other, demonstrating their loyalty to the fraternity even in wartime.

Did you also known that on his solo flight across the Atlantic, Charles Lindbergh wore a square and compasses on his jacket for good luck. Lindbergh was a Freemason.

Charity is important but keeping civility at the forefront should be a goal of all. Here is a little tidbit of information for reflection
When George Washington was a teenager, he wanted to make a good impression on his elders. Good manners were important to him. He made sure that he knew how by copying Rules of Civility from a French rulebook in his own handwriting. Rules of Civility was a list of 110 rules for people to follow. These rules dealt with different situations, such as how to be respectful to people, how to be polite when dining with others, and how to behave. Here are ten of the rules:

Every Action done in Company ought to be with Some Sign of Respect to those that are Present.
In the Presence of Others Sing not to yourself with a humming Noise, nor Drum with your Fingers or Feet.
Sleep not when others Speak, Sit not when others stand, Speak not when you should hold your Peace, walk not on when others Stop.
When you Sit down, Keep your Feet firm and Even, without putting one on the other or Crossing them.
Shift not yourself in Sight of others nor Gnaw your nails.
Do not laugh too loud or too much at any Publick Spectacle.
Use no Reproachfull Language against any one neither Curse nor Revile. Gaze not on the marks or blemishes of Others and ask not how they came.
What you may Speak in Secret to your Friend deliver not before others.
Undertake not what you cannot Perform but be Careful to keep your Promise.
Speak not Evil of the absent for it is unjust.
