We are so thankful to our amazing community partners, including RAIL teacher, Kristi Downs, who had a vision to bring music therapy to students. Special thanks to Rochester Public Schools Foundation for the grant funding to bring music therapy to students this winter!

Dear RPS community,

Mark your calendars: Early Voting for the "Ignite Student Learning" referendum begins this Friday, September 20.

Rochester voters will consider a 10-year operating levy increase that will generate $19.4 million annually, subject to the rate of inflation, to stabilize the district's budget and provide funding for:

Positions that assist students who need more support to thrive.

Programs that challenge advanced students and enrich learning for all students.

Services that strengthen student well-being and mental health.

Classes that prepare students for success in vocational and technical careers.

If the referendum fails, RPS will need to make major cuts in all four of these areas, close schools, and raise class sizes across the district to close the projected $19.4 million deficit.

As you learn more about the Referendum, in addition to all of the materials available on our website, www.rochesterschools.org/referendum, another resource that is available to you is a video presentation created by Superintendent Pekel.
