As we approach the end of the year, we would like to circle back to the month of October where the RPBA was able to represent each elementary school that held a trunk or treat or Halloween event by gifting, some sweet treats and snacks to the children of the community. Some even had a chance to meet Elmo!

Thank you to Lt. Knox, Detective Bibeau, Detective Labosier, Officer Settele, Officer Root, Officer Birmingham, Officer Downs, Officer Bradley, Officer Sauriol and Officer Bernatchez for this dedication to community policing!

This Spaulding family had their world turned upside down when Matt experienced a medical event that lead to his world never being the same.

Today, we were able to present a $490.12 check that was made 100% of funds donated during our annual Guns and Hoses event. What’s even better was the Rochester Police Benevolent Association matched the donation with $500.00.

To Matt and the Gould Family, we are and sincerely hope your recovery continues. Be Strong, Matty!

Today we presented a donation to the Spaulding Raider Station.

This program helps bridge the gap between meals and items for students that may be without for an unknown time period. It is our great honor to assist in stocking the pantry as the school year closes in hopes that these young students don’t have to fear for going without.

These donations are a direct reflection of your contributions made to the benevolent association.

Members of the RPBA, Rochester Housing Authority and Rochester Fire Department Partnered with New Hampshire Bike Walk Alliance for an educational class yesterday. The class talked and trained our attendees about helmet safety, proper bike fit and rules of the road while traveling on bicycles.

This class was the start of our plan to give back on community events.

Stayed tuned for an event coming in May 2024.

As a community based outreach organization, we as the RPBA wanted to make citizens aware of the upcoming Citizens Academy with Rochester NH Police Department.

See the below announcement placed by Chief Boudreau and Captain Aucoin for the process and expectations.

They have had several spouses of current officers or civilian employees and members of the community graduate from this program with a knowledge that allows them to understand what the Police Department does and how the mission is being accomplished daily.

**********************************************************

The Rochester Police Department will be holding its 10th annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting in April of 2024. Citizens who participate in this program will be exposed to the many facets of their police department through presentations by department employees, hands-on training and ride-a-longs with police officers. Here's your chance to learn and become exposed to what your police department "really does".

The Citizen’s Academy class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for eleven weeks starting on April 30 and concluding on July 9. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the commencement of the Academy, or 15 years of age or older if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The class is limited to 20 participants and will be considered on a first come, first served basis, with preference being given to Rochester residents. Applications and Release of Information Authorization forms will be available at Citizen’s Police Academy - Rochester NH Police Department as well as at the Rochester Police Department. Requests can also be emailed to Captain Jeremy F. Aucoin. Applications can either be mailed or dropped off at the Rochester Police Department. A signature is required on each application. Participants must pass a brief background check to include a criminal record check. The deadline for applications is Tuesday April 16, 2023.
If you have questions, please contact Captain Jeremy F. Aucoin at 330-7147 or e-mail at [email protected]
