🌈✨ HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! ✨🌈
This Pride Month, we celebrate the resilience, brilliance, and joy of LGBTQ+ people everywhere—especially the Black and Brown LGBTQ+ pioneers whose courage created spaces where our community could thrive.
Did you know? 👇🏾
💎 Ballroom culture was created by Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ people who were often excluded from mainstream LGBTQ+ spaces and traditional pageantry.
💎 Houses became chosen families, providing support, mentorship, and community for LGBTQ+ people facing rejection, homelessness, and discrimination.
💎 Ballroom categories like Vogue, Runway, Face, and Realness are more than performance—they are forms of self-expression, survival, and resistance.
💎 The modern Pride movement was fueled by transgender women and q***r people of color, including activists such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, whose work helped pave the way for future generations.
💎 Voguing, which originated in ballroom culture, has grown into a global art form while remaining deeply rooted in the experiences of Black and Brown LGBTQ+ communities.
As we celebrate Pride, we honor the trailblazers who built spaces where authenticity, creativity, and community could flourish. Pride is not just a celebration—it’s a reminder of our history, our resilience, and our ongoing fight for equity, visibility, and liberation.
🏳️🌈 To every House, every Legend, every Icon, every trailblazer, and every person still finding their place: You belong. You are loved. You are part of this legacy.
Happy Pride Month! 🌈✨
