Today was a great day and a bittersweet day. 3 years ago I received an email from two wonderful ladies, Sydney & Morgan Mosher. They asked if we could deliver and assemble 43 bunkbeds at the new location of The Kita Center in Acton, ME. Today was the day that we assembled the final bed and installed the final mattress. I would like to thank my friends Ron and Dan for being there every step of the way, and the dozens of incredible volunteers that had a hand in making this happen. Many children will be enjoying these beds for many years to come. Thank you all very much!!!

I was hoping to never have to write this post, but here we are. Unfortunately, my current health issues are forcing me to step down as the President of the Rochester chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Building and delivering over 500 beds in the past 4 years has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I am looking for someone to take over my position. I can still be involved in an administrative capacity, but I can no longer do the physical aspect. This is a 100% volunteer position. The only pay that you will receive will be the many thank yous, hugs, and occasional tears from the parents, guardians, and children when you deliver the beds. Along with meeting the many incredible volunteers that will help you with every step of the process. A truly priceless paycheck. Our chapter is not closing. We should have enough beds on hand to fulfill all of our requests in 2026, and we have a process in place to deliver the beds.
