A few highlights:
✨ Thurston County welcomed 3.39 million visitors in 2024, generating $572 million in spending
✨ FIFA World Cup tourism marketing is already underway, positioning our area as a beautiful, accessible, and calmer alternative to Seattle
✨ Experience Olympia & Beyond is embracing AI and digital marketing to help travelers discover local businesses, restaurants, lodging, and events
✨ Tourism works best when the whole community participates — so keep sharing your events and happenings!

Community updates included:
🍔 Papa’s Diner continues growing as a community hub with Saturday morning car shows, new DoorDash service, and support for local businesses through promotional stickers on to-go orders
📰 Rochester Sun News celebrates 30 years serving the community
🌸 Gate City Schoolhouse Plant Sale began Monday 5/11
🚜 New additions around town, including the tractor display at Dream Weavers
📍 The GMR Historic Driving Tour continues expanding with additional local sites
🎉 Local businesses can apply for a FREE booth at Swede Days — applications due May 15

Most importantly, the conversation centered around civic pride, creating positive visitor experiences, and continuing to make Rochester and Grand Mound places we’re proud to call home.
