Blackfriars Theatre Blackfriars Theatre is a mid-sized professional theatre that has entertained audiences for 75 years in downtown Rochester, NY!

Blackfriars is proud to invite you to our theater located in Rochester's "Theatre Row" along Main St. We are now in our 72nd season of providing quality theatrical entertainment to the Greater Monroe County and Finger Lakes region. Blackfriars Theatre produces 7 theatrical productions each year (6 in our subscription series and 1 special summer show through our Summer Intensive program from young

artists). Our theatrical season starts each fall and runs through May. Our committed group of performers, technicians and volunteers are proud to bring live entertainment in the form of dramatic and musical productions to our local community in western New York.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?!

Abby Kate was an active BT artist from 2016- 2018. Abby Kate was Heather McNamara in “Heathers”, Mary in “The Flight Before Christmas”, and Mary Anne in “When we Were Young and Afraid”.

A decade later, Abby found herself at her first callback in San Francisco for Mean Girls with Ray of Light Theatre. Abby says “The artistic director walked up to me after recognizing BT on my resume, having had worked there years ago. In short, the connections are vast and I’m so grateful BT was the first page of my acting career & story”

THE FULL MONTY auditions are tonight and we're so excited to see how Rochester's local artists bring this piece to life! Sure, this one has a ton of fun stuff for the guys to do, but as you can see from this excerpt of the libretto, there's plenty for the gals to sink their teeth into as well! As we say in the theatre, 'it begins with the text...' 🤣
