This week the club was fortunate to hear (2) great presentations!
Starr Anderson representing @4 C’s started us off and spoke about the organizations goals and highlighted their upcoming Family Fun Event! The FREE event will be held on 06.16.26 at Cooper Park. It will include vendors, games, raffle baskets, food trucks, and face painting.
There is still time to be a part of the fun as a vendor!

Remember the Rochelle Club is always excited to welcome guests and presenters! We meet each Tuesday at noon at Luna.

This week we got to enjoy a presentation from Rochelle Flagg Township Museum! Jan did a great job discussing the mission and vision of the museum volunteers! She gave an overview of their fundraising events coming up. These great t shirts are a current fundraising project for them. Make sure to grab one!

An added bonus for the members in attendance was the insight she had into Rotary history in our community.

Have you stopped in to our local museum? If not you should. They are open Thursday- Sunday and you will definitely have so many take aways about Rochelle history after your visit!

Remember Rotary always welcomes visitors! The club meets every Tuesday at noon at Luna.

Congratulations Noah!!

RTHS Honors March Rotary Student of the Month: Noah McKinney
Rochelle Township High School is proud to recognize junior Noah McKinney as the
March Rotary “Service Above Self” Student of the Month.
Noah has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to serving others, accumulating
301 Silver Service volunteer hours during his three years at RTHS. His volunteer
efforts include working at the Little League concession stand, running the
scoreboard and keeping the scorebook for REC basketball games, serving as a
worship leader at the R.O.C.K. weekend Christian retreat, assisting at the Geneva
Food Bank, and participating in the El Ayudante Honduras Mission Trip. During this
trip, Noah contributed to a variety of projects, including laying concrete, building
cabinets, and helping organize a wedding. His supervisor shared,
“Noah worked
hard and contributed with a great attitude at each event. He was a great asset.
”
In addition to his service, Noah excels academically and is actively involved in
school activities. He is a member of Key Club, where he has contributed to events
such as Pork Chop Dinners, Make a Difference Day, Hot Dog Day, Peanut Day, and
Hay Bale Decorating. Noah also participates in Marching Band and Pep Band, as
well as the bowling and tennis teams. This year, he was also selected for
membership in the National Honor Society.
As part of this honor, Noah will receive a scholarship to attend the Rotary Youth
Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp, where he will further develop his leadership skills
and dedication to service.
RTHS congratulates Noah McKinney on being named the March Rotary Student of
the Month. We look forward to his continued success and all he will accomplish in the future

Another great presentation today to the club!

Thank you to Stacy Seaworth and Nancy Reed from Pegasus Special Riders, Inc. for stopping by our meeting.

Stacy gave updates on the organization including services they provide, what offerings they are looking to expand, and details about their upcoming golf fundraiser!

Rochelle Rotary always loves to honor hardworking RTHS Students!

⭐RTHS Honors April Rotary Student of the Month: Kami Damask
Rochelle Township High School is proud to recognize junior Kami Damask as the April Rotary “Service Above Self” Student of the Month.
Kami has accumulated over 422 Silver Service volunteer hours during her three years at RTHS - already earning her Silver Service Cord as a junior, an impressive accomplishment. Her dedication to serving others is evident through her many contributions to the community. Kami has volunteered at Spring Lake Pool, taught swimming lessons, assisted with fundraising events and childcare at First Presbyterian Church, worked in the concession stand at the REC Center, coached RJT Cheer, and served at the R.O.C.K. Christian Retreat Weekend where her supervisor noted, “Kami served with a smile and a great attitude all weekend.”
In addition to her community service, Kami is actively involved at RTHS. She volunteers as an office monitor during her study hall, serves as a baseball team manager, assists with supervising summer lifting sessions, helps organize and set up Prom, and supports several teachers and coaches when they need extra help. She is also a member of the Cheer Team and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.
As part of this recognition, Kami will receive a scholarship to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp, where she will further develop her leadership skills and commitment to service.
RTHS congratulates Kami on being named the April Rotary Student of the Month and thanks her for the positivity, dedication, and enthusiasm she brings to both the school and the community.

Our presentation this week was by Victor Doe representing
Global Partners for Africa Devolpment (Global PAD)
Club members in attendance were captivated by his story of this non profit and the inspiring work they do for so many internationally for those in need.

Some of the projects they work on are providing Clean water, school supplies, (including teacher produced teaching materials) and providing medical supplies for those in need. He also spoke about how their efforts are helping students achieve goals of college and encouraging women to pursue higher education goals when traditional that isn’t encouraged In certain countries. He spoke about the hard work and dedication of the 8 chapters of his organization and really impressed our club members. Thank you to Victor for taking time to speak with us and traveling from Ohio to present to us. Each week we hear presentations from many making a difference. Thank you to Jessica Cash from Shining Star Children's Advocacy Center for presenting today to the club! We were impressed with all the services you provide for some of the most vulnerable.

Follow their page for updates on fundraising events including the upcoming “Shine Hope Event” on May 21st . They are partnering with of Ogle County for a wonderful luncheon. They will soon have an Ogle County space opening and are excited to have guests in to see it upon completion.

Today Rotary Club heard a presentation from Erica Holloway representing Foundation for Focus House. She and foundation board member (and Rotary Club President) Lance Charnock gave an overview of the services they provide for Focus House Residents. They also encouraged everyone to mark their calendars for a delicious lunch on Wednesday (04.15.26) The Annual Spaghetti Lunch/Dinner Fundraiser supports the program. Another great presentation today by our newest club member AJ Martin representing Burlington Junction Railway . AJ gave us an overview of the services provided by BJRY and how much they have grown thru the years. We are proud to have him and BJRY in our community and look forward to many great things in the future. As always we love to welcome new members.
