On this 260th day counting down Rochelle Chapter's Revolutionary War Patriots on our way to America 250, we honor:

William Ross; DAR Ancestor A098620: credited with military service as a Private in the Ninth Virginia Regiment under Captain John Hays and Colonels Thomas Fleming and George Mathews according to National Archives, M881, Compiled Military Service Records. He was born in Prince William County, Virginia in 1739. He resided in Hampshire County, Virginia, during the war and died on May 14, 1834, in German Township, Clark County, Ohio. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Winneford Rector.

It's day 259, and we honor:

William Richardson; DAR Ancestor A096004: credited with military service as a Private according to Simpson-Poffenbarger’s The Battle of Point Pleasant, page 28. He was born in Bladen County, North Carolina, around 1748. He resided in Rich Valley, Fincastle County, Virginia during the war and died sometime before August 18, 1835, in Smyth County, Virginia. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Rebecca Hays.

It's day 258, on our quest to honor each Revolutionary War Patriot associated with the membership of Rochelle Chapter, NSDAR.

Today, we honor:

James Reed; DAR Ancestor A094378: previously credited with qualifying service; however, any future applicants should expect a requirement to prove qualifying at his verified wartime residence in Mount Vernon, Fairfax County, Virginia. He was born at an unverified Virginia location in 1758 and died in Mount Vernon in January 1800. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Elizabeth Swassick.

On this Monday, it's day 257 as we count down Rochelle Chapter Revolutionary War Patriots.

Today, we honor:

David Ralston; DAR Ancestor A093673: credited with military service as a Private under Captains Hopkins, John Rice, Robert Cravens, and Richard Rogan, and Colonel Stubblefield, according to pension *S7431. He was born in Augusta County, Virginia, on October 20, 1760. He resided in Rockingham County, Virginia, during the war and died there on June 5, 1849. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Sarah Hinton.

It's day 256 as we continue honoring our patriots from Virginia included in the 283 Revolutionary War Patriots who are direct ancestors of Rochelle Chapter members.

Richard Pennington; DAR Ancestor A064852: credited with military service as a Soldier in Captain Enoch Ozburn’s Company of Militia in 1781 according to Kegley’s Militia of Montgomery County, Virginia, 1777-1790, page 32. He was born around 1752 and resided in Montgomery County during the war. He died in White County, Tennessee, on December 21, 1813. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Hannah Boone.

Yesterday was day 256 as we continue honoring our patriots from Virginia included in the 283 Revolutionary War Patriots who are direct ancestors of Rochelle Chapter members.

Mason Owens; DAR Ancestor A215342: credited with military service as a Private under Captains Joseph Rogers, George Strother and William Punbury, and Colonel Skinker, according to pension *S32426. He was born on September 8, 1760, in King George County, Virginia, and died sometime after September 1846 in Montgomery County, Illinois. The name of this Patriot’s wife has not been verified.

It's day 255 as we continue honoring our patriots from Virginia included in the 283 Revolutionary War Patriots who are direct ancestors of Rochelle Chapter members.

Richard Muse; DAR Ancestor A212524: credited with military service as a Private under Captains William Harbert, Cambell, and James Newell, and Colonels Campbell and Lynch according to pension *S30612. He was born in Lancaster County, Virginia, around 1752. During the war, he resided in Fincastle and Montgomery Counties, also in Virginia. He died sometime before November 16, 1840, in Pulaski County, Kentucky. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Margaret, whose surname has not been verified.

It's day 254 as we continue honoring our patriots from Virginia included in the 283 Revolutionary War Patriots who are direct ancestors of Rochelle Chapter members.

John Kimberlin; DAR Ancestor A066167: credited with patriotic service for paying the 1783 Supply Tax according to the Library of Virginia, Hampshire County Personal Property Tax, 1782-1799. He was born in Virginia on June 2, 1751, and resided in Hampshire County during the war. He died in Scott County, Indiana, on April 30, 1835. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Ruth Jones.

It's day 253 as we continue honoring our patriots from Virginia included in the 283 Revolutionary War Patriots who are direct ancestors of Rochelle Chapter members.

Arthur Johnson; DAR Ancestor A062982: credited with military service with the highest rank of Lieutenant under Captain Woodson, and Colonels Mackling and Branham, according to pension S*W10152. He was born on August 7, 1757, in Brunswick County, Virginia, and resided there during the war. He died on October 16, 1839, in White County, Illinois. All verified descendants of this Patriot were through his wife Lucy Harmon.
