Leadership Crawford County had a full and inspiring day of learning about the people and systems that keep our community strong.
We began the day with an educational visit from our county school superintendents, who shared insights about the opportunities and challenges facing our local schools and the important role education plays in shaping Crawford County’s future.
Participants also spent time exploring what it means to inspire and motivate others during a leadership session led by Kate Pleasant of Marathon Petroleum, focusing on how leaders can create energy, purpose, and connection within their teams and communities.
The group then visited the Crawford County Senior Center to learn more about the many services they provide for our residents, including their vital Meals on Wheels program that supports seniors across the county.
We wrapped up the day with a conversation about local government, hearing from Robinson Mayor Mike Shimer and Crawford County Clerk Beckie Staley about how city and county government work together to serve our communities.
Each stop throughout the day highlighted the collaboration, leadership, and service that help Crawford County thrive. We’re grateful to all of the leaders who took time to share their knowledge and experiences with this year’s class.
Thanks, as always, to our partners and sponsors: First Robinson Savings Bank, N.A., Lincolnland Agri-Energy, LLC, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Crawford County Development Association and Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. Special thanks to The City of Robinson for hosting us at the Civic Center today!
