💧💧💧💧 Tuesday Night Training 💧💧💧
Our members spent Tuesday evening practicing drafting operations.

Drafting allows us to pull water from an available water source when a fire hydrant is not readily accessible. Tankers can fill from hydrants or draft from sources such as swimming pools, lakes, and ponds. They then transport and dump the water into portable tanks at the scene, allowing our engines to maintain a continuous water supply for firefighting operations. This tank is designed to hold 3000 gallons of water.

This is just one of the many skills we train on to better protect and serve our community.

Last night we trained on Pumping Operations with our members. This training is to not only give new Firefighters hands on experience, it allows seasoned Firefighters the opportunity to refresh their skills. Come join us at 6 PM every Tuesday and pick up an application. We have a need for everyone from Firefighters to Support Personnel.

Elsanor Fire & Rescue Training Night 🚒📻🧱

Tonight’s training may not be physically demanding, but it’s helping build one of the most critical skills on the fireground—effective communication.

Using a LEGO fire truck challenge, crews were divided into two teams. One team had the instructions, while the other team had the pieces and could only build based on radio communications. The objective was simple: communicate clearly, accurately, and efficiently to complete the build.

This exercise highlights the importance of:
✅ Clear radio traffic
✅ Active listening
✅ Attention to detail
✅ Teamwork under pressure
✅ Giving and receiving instructions effectively

Whether we’re responding to an emergency scene or completing a simple training exercise, strong communication is what keeps our crews coordinated, safe, and successful.

Training doesn’t always involve hoses, ladders, or turnout gear—sometimes it starts with a handful of LEGOs and a radio.
