I don’t think anyone who knows and loves you needs a reminder of what today is. It’s the worst kind of anniversary to remember. How does 5 years feel like both a blink of an eye and yet interminably long, especially for your Mom, Jesse & Wyatt?
This song makes us think of you. You are missed and loved so much. We know you are flying high with the angels making circles around the court and the track, but that doesn’t change the huge hole you left behind. I’m praying you send a sign to your family and loved ones today. Forever 18 in our hearts.

Take some time today to do something fun and spontaneous in his memory. That was definitely how he loved and lived his life. Look up at the heavens, try to smile and say “This is for you.” 💙

Today sucks and it will forever be imprinted in everyone’s memory.
Sometimes when Angela and I are talking the conversation comes around to “it just doesn’t get any easier. The more time that goes by, is not making it any easier.” I think of that often and my response to Angela is usually “Why would it? It just means that more time has passed since you saw him last”
As I watch his friends get engaged, married, some entering their last year of college, and some becoming parents. Wyatt is entering high school now and all the changes that come with that, I think about how much he is missing (he is missed) and the cruel unfairness of it all. This doesn’t discount the joy of all the wonderful things that are happening, I just wish more than anything he was here to see it and give his mom and Jesse a huge hug. Hug his grandparents….hug Wyatt. Grief is a lot like raking sand at the beach, you are never actually done and it’s an impossible undertaking.
Some moms who lose a child cannot mention their names, but Angela has always talked about him, laughed, cried and told stories about him.
Can you all please take some time and share a memory in the comments please? I know she would love to read them.

Lastly, today get up and go do something spontaneous and fun in Addison’s memory. Maybe look up to the sky and say “this is for you” Come back and share a picture of you being fun and spontaneous in honor of him.

Hi Everyone,
If you have signed up for the race, you should have just received an email, with the exception of Tricia Farrell (Angela said she talked to you already, but shoot me your email if you would like).
If you haven’t received one, check your spam, and let me know if it still didn’t make it there.
Thank you again for your wonderful support. We appreciate it so much.
I’ll send out reminders as the closing date approaches.

Hi everyone, I am having a really hard time getting our usual site back to me to set up the virtual race, and I’m running out of time. It’s been 3 weeks now and still nothing. We have used the site for all 3 races and I was hesitant to switch it up.
Can I get a weigh in on what anyone may think of a Google type sign up and a cash app/venmo type payment? We could do that and offer a in person payment option of cash or check too. Let me know what you think please.
Thank you 💙

Addison

Addison Coty was an amazing young man who had his whole life in front of him. He tragically lost his life on July 31, 2018 leaving behind a family, friends, and entire community who misses him more than anything. His mother has established a scholarship in his name to be given to one deserving senior each year graduating Calais High School. Throughout the year, there will be two events ( a 5k/kids fun run, and a basketball tournament) Please follow this page for updates and info on how you can help keep his name alive and thriving.
