After 14 years, 3 trips to Benin and countless hoops that we've jumped through, yesterday was a big day for us as ground was broken on creating Benin's first-ever baseball field at a school-yard in Cotonou. This is video of the earth-movers rolling in and starting the long process of soil correction.

The 2023 Little League "Baseball in Benin" Woodbat Tournament is set for August 3rd-through-6th. Registration for teams is going on NOW. Registration form is available online at our website baseballinbenin.org (click on tournament). Pass the word and get your team registered today!

We are a nonprofit based out of Minnesota, focused on expanding the game of Baseball in the small West African nation. With your help we can continue to support the communities in Benin through the great game of Baseball.

After 7 days away in Benin, West Africa and 7 years of work, we are thrilled to report that we have a spot where we will build Benin's first baseball field(s). Much work is still to be done as we begin securing a contractor and funding to pay for it, but the Don Bosco School in Cotonou has agreed in principle to host our field(s). Of course donations can be made at baseballinbenin.org and/or if you have any fundriasing ideas feel free to us. It's a good day

Here's the latest from our Benin 12's in Nigeria--They split a pair of games on Thursday losing 7-0 and winning 13-3. They are off today and will play Nigeria on Saturday. A win and they're guaranteed a spot in the Poland qualifier (two teams qualify). A loss and they can still make it with some help. Stay tuned.

Big news from West Africa...Today, our 12 year old team from Benin played in and won the country's first-ever international Little League tournament game as they beat the Ivory Coast 8-2. Tomorrow (Thursday) they will face the hosts from Nigeria. The winner of this week's tournament qualfies to play in Poland in July, with the winner of that advancing to Williamsport. The game of baseball in Benin has come a long ways since we started this project 13 years ago. Exciting times are ahead! Check back here for more results from this week's tournament in Nigeria.
