Our Purpose:
The activities of this foundation will be to raise funds to renovate the Village Theater located at 161 East Salisbury Street, Robbins, NC. All funds or net earnings of the corporation shall be used to purchase the building, renovations, perpetual care, maintenance, and operation for the Robbins Village Theater as stated in Section 2 Article VI of the By Laws and no part of the corpor
ation’s net earning shall inure to the benefit of any of the corporation’s officers, directors or members, or any other private individual. This facility will provide a much needed space for gatherings and artistic pursuits for all people of the community. The Village Theater was a major attraction in the community in years past. The theater closed and has recently been used as a gun and collectibles store. The return of this building to house a cultural arts center and meeting place will provide enrichment for all phases of the general public by providing a venue for plays, movies, art exhibits, dance recitals, concerts, musical performances and featured speakers. The project has public support and has received favorable press coverage in “The Pilot” newspaper, Southern Pines, NC. The Officers and Board of Directors are donating their time to this corporation with no compensation to raise funds to see this project to fruition. The Project has been broken down into four phases:
