Weld-Off Recap – DAYTECH | November 5, 2025
DAYTECH hosted a successful Weld-Off competition on November 5, 2025, bringing together talented high school welding students from across the region. Special thanks to Justin Wagner and William Fleming High School for hosting this year’s event and helping create an engaging, supportive environment for all participants.
We were honored to have Mark Sapp, District Director, in attendance to present the awards and scholarships. Congratulations to this year’s winners:
• 1st Place – Jonathan Matias
Award: $2,500 AWS Scholarship
• 2nd Place – Carter Gower
Award: $1,500 AWS Scholarship
• 3rd Place – RJ Hopkins
Award: ESAB Savage Welding Helmet
We sincerely thank our judges—Cameron Hatter, Ed Campbell, Tay Whiteside, and Aaron Dalton—for lending their time, expertise, and commitment to ensuring a fair and educational competition.
