PREACH SOLOMON!

I am so proud to see this post along with your commentary coming from one of our regional Pastors. I was beginning to wonder if all of our pastors have some kind of vocal chord ailment — because all I can hear from the black clergy IS STARK SILENCE!! Thank you for amplifying this message, which let's me know that GOD's PREACHERS are still standing in the GAP, on behalf of black and other disenfranchised people of Alabama AND BEYOND!

OUR COMMUNITIES NEED TO HEAR YOUR VOICES !!!
WE DEPEND ON YOU FOR LEADERSHIP AND STRENGTH AS WE CONTINUE TO FACE THESE AGE-OLD CHALLENGES AND PREJUDICES! THANK YOU!!!

PASTOR SOLOMON'S POST:

"The actions being taken by the State of Alabama are not just political, but they are deeply degrading and demeaning to the legacy of those who marched, were beaten, and even gave their lives for voting rights and equal representation under the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

When the Alabama Speaker of the House, Nathaniel Ledbetter, says the legislature has “a responsibility to give our state a fighting chance to send seven Republican members to Congress,” it reveals a troubling priority. Representation should not be engineered to benefit a political party. It should reflect the people, all of the people, fairly and justly.

If this approach prevails, it creates a system that feels like taxation without meaningful representation, where voices are technically counted but not truly heard.

This is the moment to Pray, Organize, Protest, and Vote!

We cannot ignore the weight of history. The sacrifices made were not for partisan advantage, but for equal access, equal voice, and equal dignity in our democracy. Any effort that undermines that legacy dishonors those who paid the price to secure it."

Alabama lawmakers begin meeting today to discuss new voting maps and special elections designed to give Republicans an even greater advantage in Congress.

Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision isn’t just another headline — it’s personal.

I didn’t learn voting rights from a textbook. I learned it at the feet of my father, Wilkie Clark, and others who fought to make democracy real in places where it once existed only on paper.

This is my response.

This is not commentary—it’s testimony.

I hope you’ll watch.
