Vice District Gov. Greg Derosa visited the Reston Lions Club this week as they met at Bungalow Restaurant and heard from guest speaker Claudia Woods on Prevention for Blindness.
DG Greg presented Lion Dev Upadhya District Governor's Spark Award for his support for community support to Vision and youth programs - and taking on the important role as Club Secretary - and presented the District Governor's pin to King Lion Davida Luehrs.
With all the great work being done by this club, I guess it's true that there's no Reston for the weary.

DG Chuck Schwab recently visited the Aquia Harbour Host Lions Club. The evening was full of fellowship and fun. Lion Chris - the club Treasurer - wanted to keep one of their Leader Dog Puppy Plushes for sponsoring three leader dog puppies last year. Lion Brandi received the District’s Spark Plug Award for her fundraising activities with the upcoming “Dinner in the Dark” this October. To round the evening out, Lion President Ron welcomed two new Lions joining their club.
Special bonus: they also had visiting Lions from Puerto Rico.

DG Chuck Schwab was flying high when he visited with the Stephens City Lions Club during Lake Frederick’s National Night Out. Congratulations on Stephens City’s on your upcoming 80th Charter Night.

Congratulations to the Monterey (85 years) and Park West (60 years) Lions Clubs as they celebrate their Charter Anniversaries in August.
These clubs have served their communities for over 145 combined years!

Last month the Lions of were honored by Virginia's Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired with their "Heart for Humanity" award in recognition of the difference Lions across the commonwealth are making - providing "Balls For All' to vision impaired children, offering rides to work for those who need transportation, providing glasses and special vision equipment to families that cannot afford them, even just helping people read their mail. We are making a difference one person at a time, 365 days a year!!! It's great to be a Lion!!!

Did you know our new International President's name is Mark Lyon? Seems like he was destined for a role in the Lions - but I still don't think we should change how we spell our name.
It's great to be a Lyon...I mean...Lion!
