Points of Diversity had it's first meeting on October 30 2014 producing the goals & objectives for our first "public " meeting at North Cross in January 2015 where committees were established to implement our mission statement: to support the creation of an environment where people want to live, learn and grow by working to ensure that all community members have the tools to succeed by connecting,

engaging and being educated in cross-cultural discussions and experiences. Our first annual membership meeting will take place on November 15, 2015 to establish our By-Laws and elect officers to the Steering Committee. The current members of the Pro-Temp Steering Committee are: Katie Zawacki as the Pro-Temp Chair, Lynn McDowell, Janis James, Deneen Evans, Juliet Jordan Lowery, Freeda Cathcart, Anita Price, Melissa Kessler, Milton Mabe, Jim O'Hare, and Tonya Gilson. The current Sub-Committees are the Youth Communication Committee chaired by Janis James, the Education & Training for Faith & Philosophical Communities chaired by Milton Mabe,
Community Dialogue Committee chaired by Katie Zawacki, the Education & Training Committee for Schools & Workplaces chaired by both Katie Zawacki and Janis James, and Sustainability Committee by Freeda Cathcart.

We Are Hiring!

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual looking for a valuable part-time role? Points of Diversity (POD) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to be the glue for our daily operations and help for our non-profit to grow and thrive! If you have the ability to multitask and want to make a real impact in a friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

salary: $20 per hour
Flexible hours depending on scheduled events and meetings
starting at 10 hours a week moving toward 20 hours

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; written and verbal communication, administrative and operations support, making phone calls and following-up, creating flyers and promotional items, , serving as the point person between Committee chairs and executives, Overseeing , recruiting and Training for Community Dialogue, documenting past history and events, developing a Volunteer base. Expertise with Social Media is essential

QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency with relevant software and social media-MS Excel, MS Word
Good time management , organizational and multi-tasking
• Excellent Oral and written Communication skills
Handling Confidential Information
• Problem Solving, Detail oriented and good interpersonal skills
• Reliable with initiative and motivation
• Relevant experience and/or Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in related field
• Prioritizing
• Working Independently
