Roanoke Prevention Alliance

Roanoke Prevention Alliance Let’s build resilience and help our youth avoid substance use. Supported by Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare! roanokepreventionalliance.org

We are working together to combat substance abuse utilizing five guiding principles:

• Build a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to helping teens and young adults avoid or break the cycle of substance abuse.

• Monitor the substance abuse health of the Roanoke area and disseminate that information to the public.

• Implement strategies and deploy tactics to prevent, reduce, re

verse or minimize substance abuse.

• Educate the community through events and public relations efforts.

• Advocate for strategies to combat substance abuse throughout the city.

This special event will feature community members sharing real stories of resilience, hope, and growth.
These stories are very real.
Very human.
And full of light and hope.
These are not stories that dwell in the hard moments. They move through them with grit, grace, humor, and bravery.

We are hoping to pack the theater with amazing warm energy for our brave storytellers! Grab your tickets now on the Grandin Theatre website, we hope to see you there!

The Roanoke Valley is shining a spotlight on strength, support and community during Resiliency Week.

We are SO PROUD of our amazing Roanoke City youth, who designed this fidget cube with us. The message “THINK, REFLECT, ACT” was chosen by the youth to remind each another to think and reflect before acting on their emotions. 💚 What an amazing message for building resilience and emotional tolerance!

These fidget cubes will be distributed at several Roanoke City Public Schools in the coming weeks. Pictured here is our Director Sarah Kate dropping off a bag of cubes at Forest Park School, and our Prevention Specialist Leah dropping some off at William Fleming High School!

Many thanks to our community members, grant managers, and Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare - BRBH for supporting this project, and another huge thank you to the teachers, staff, and parents of for your tireless dedication to our Roanoke City kids. We are so honored to be a part of your lives and stories!
