Alright everyone, its time to get started. Fundraising efforts for the Rotary Theatre Project are now underway. I will be posting events in the near future and hope each of you will participate in any way you can.

The first event is a gracious offering from the Handley High School Drama Club. Aladin will be performed in the Handley high auditorium on Friday, February 21st at 7pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from TEC, my law firm, the high school or any Roanoke Rotary member. ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to the theatre project. It is our goal to pack the house and support this great group of talented students. Please join us for a fun family night and celebrate this great community effort to revitalize such an important piece of Roanoke history and in turn another great venue for the arts in Randolph County!!! Between TEC, the Rotary Club and the Class of 1963 a total of $4000 was raised for the Main Street Theatre project during Summer on Main. A very special thanks to the class of 1963 who raised $2500 of that money. I am so excited that our small town can pull together on such an important project for this community. There are only 35 of the commemorative glasses and likely we will not use the same design next time so if you are interested you can pick up your theatre glass from Vickie Cummings at TEC...they are $10 each!

The Roanoke Rotary Club will also be selling Coca-Cola and popcorn tomorrow at Summer on Main. The Coca-Cola will come in a commemorative glass. The glass is $10.00 and includes free refills all day!

Did you know? Carmike was founded when Carl L. Patrick, Sr. acquired Martin Theatres from Fuqua Industries in 1982. The theater name comes from a combination of Carl L. Patrick, Sr.'s two sons, Carl Jr. and Michael, hence Carmike.

Support the Downtown Theatre Revitalization! Buy $1 chances at one of two 2013 Carmike Cinema Popcorn Buckets at the theatre tomorrow during Summer on Main.

Carmike Cinemas has donated two (2) 2013 Popcorn Buckets to the Roanoke Rotary Club to help raise money for the Downtown Theatre Revitalization project!

Each bucket contains assorted candy and four (4) movie tickets. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1.00 at the theatre on Saturday, June 1st during Summer on Main.

Two (2) winners will be drawn, each receiving one (1) 2013 Carmike Cinema Popcorn Bucket package. Participants do not have to be present to win. 2013 Carmike Cinema Popcorn Buckets and movie tickets can be used at any of the 250 Carmike locations across the country, including Auburn, LaGrange, and Gulf Shores!
