You don’t have to know exactly what you need to reach out for support.

If you’re navigating the impact of sexual violence—recent or long past—support is available. Questions, uncertainty, or simply needing to talk are all enough.

Our services are confidential, survivor-centered, and offered without pressure. We meet people where they are.

You don’t need the right words to reach out.

You don’t need certainty or a full story.
You don’t need to explain everything.

Reaching out—even quietly—is enough to begin.

Advocacy is not about fixing or deciding for someone else.

It is about listening, believing, offering options, and respecting choice. It is about showing up consistently and without judgment.

This work is grounded in care, consent, and dignity.

There is no single or “right” way to heal.

Survivors get to move at their own pace, set their own boundaries, and decide what support looks like for them. Healing is not linear, and it does not need to look productive or tidy to be real.

Survivor autonomy is central to this work.

Community support makes healing possible. 🧡

At SARA Roanoke, we exist so that no survivor in our region has to navigate the aftermath of sexual violence alone. While grants fund our core programs, it’s your local donations that fill the gaps.

What your gift to SARA supports:

❤Immediate Advocacy: A trained advocate responding to the hospital the moment a survivor asks for help.

❤24/7 Hotline: A calm, prepared voice on the other end of the line, any time of day or night.

❤Removing Barriers: Ensuring that care is always free, regardless of a survivor's ability to pay.

Today is Give Roanoke. Whether it’s $25 or $100, your contribution helps ensure that survivors can reach out without fear of cost, exposure, or loss of control.

When someone experiences sexual violence, the next step shouldn't feel like a loss of control. At SARA Roanoke, we believe every survivor deserves to be believed, respected, and supported on their own terms.

Our services are free, confidential, and voluntary 24/7. That means:
✨ No cost for support.
✨ No requirement to report to law enforcement.
✨ No pressure to take a path you aren't ready for.

Today is , and your donations ensure that when a survivor calls our hotline at 2:00 a.m. or requests an advocate at the hospital, someone is there to answer.

Help us keep these vital services accessible to everyone in the Roanoke Valley.
