🚩GENERAL MEETING 🚩

Join the Roanoke Workers’ Assembly for our upcoming General Meeting to discuss our common struggles and how we may organize to collectively address them.

We will be starting the meeting with introductions and a short form Poli Ed that only requires attendance (no homework/reading beforehand necessary).

Come hungry! We're preparing a vegan entrée for a potluck-style meal. Feel free to bring something to share, if you're able. 🍽️

Bosses don't want you to take a break. Come take a break with us!

At this Social Hour, we'll be doing things a little differently: We're having a good, ole-fashioned cookout! So, come on out to meet new folks, grill with us, and enjoy some veggie kebabs!

As always, bring your appetite and feel free to bring something to share, if you're able. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll revert to our normal Social Hour format.

And don't forget that our Book Club is happening earlier that day at 11:30am, also at Villa Heights! Join us as we discuss Essays 1-7 of Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis.

We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of connection and community!

Happy Juneteenth, y'all!

We'll be tabling at the Juneteenth Family Reunion on Saturday, June 20 (yes, that's tomorrow!) from 12-5pm at the new Eureka Park, located at 1529 Carroll Ave. This event is organized by the Roanoke Cultural Collective and is a free family-friendly event!

Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the park parking lot (Carroll Ave parking lot ONLY) and surrounding neighborhood streets. Please do not block driveways or access points.

Rally for Collective Bargaining! ✊🚩

Teachers, support staff, and ALL public employees deserve a true seat at the table and the right to negotiate for fair wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Our community thrives when those we depend on have a voice when it matters.

Despite recent setbacks with the veto on collective bargaining in Virginia, the fight for our rights is far from over!

Couldn’t make it to this event but want to fight for collective bargaining in Roanoke?

Mark your calendars for Monday, June 15 at 7pm for the Roanoke City Council Public Hearing at the City Council Chambers, located at 215 Church Ave SW.
