We are delighted to recognize Two and a Half Sisters for its generous support of History is Served 2026!

A woman-owned Roanoke small business since 2009, Two & A Half Sisters offers an eclectic collection of gifts, apparel, accessories, and home décor, including items created by local artisans. Now located on Colonial Avenue, this beloved boutique is a great place to find something unique for any occasion.

Check out this fantastic and FREE event from our friends at Evergreen Burial Park

Save the date! Our Historic Walking Tour returns to Evergreen Burial Park on Sunday, October 11 at 2:00 PM. For two decades, this free, family-friendly event has brought Roanoke's history to life with living history actors sharing first-person stories of the notable individuals who rest within our grounds.

All who enjoy local history, a pleasant autumn stroll, and live theater are welcome. The tour begins at the flagpole, 1307 Summit Avenue SW, Roanoke, VA.

Join us for an afternoon gallery talk and evening reception celebrating our three current exhibitions. The gallery talk for Kindly Mirrors begins at 4pm, followed by the reception from 6-8pm.

The final Kegley Lecture of the year is just two weeks away!

Join us Tuesday, September 29, at 7pm for an evening with author Wyatt Golden, who will explore the life of Colonel Charles Lynch and the art of biography in his lecture, “A Dutch Agriculturalist, a Virginia Patriot, and the Value of Biography.”

Our exhibition reception and gallery talk are coming up next week! 📷🚂🎨

Join us Saturday, September 19, for an afternoon and evening at the museum celebrating Kindly Mirrors, On the Rails, and Rooted in Roanoke, our three current exhibitions.

The afternoon begins at 4pm with a special gallery talk on Kindly Mirrors with Ricky Cox, Alice Slusher, and Catherine Pauley of Old Church Gallery. Then from 6-8pm, meet photographers, artists, and exhibition curators, explore all three galleries, and enjoy light refreshments and beverages during the reception.
