CASAs serve an invaluable role in advocating for children in the child welfare system. Children who have CASAs have more services ordered, spend less time in foster care, and are more likely to report feeling like someone cares about them. You could be making that difference!

Children's Trust is currently recruiting for our next training class that begins on September 15, 2026. We have two upcoming information sessions on September 3 @ 6PM at Melrose Library and September 11 @ 1PM at Raleigh Court Library. The Virginia Law Foundation has awarded us another grant to help strengthen and grow our CASA program! With their support, we're able to explore ways to recruit more CASA volunteers and strengthen their training so they can advocate for children who are victims of child abuse and neglect & currently in foster care.

Did you know that as of 7/1/26, there are over 400 children in foster care in our service area? (Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Botetourt County, City of Salem, Craig County)

We were so honored to partner with Thalhimer through its Thalhimer Gives program, a companywide initiative dedicated to community involvement and charitable giving in the markets they serve.

Thalhimer donated $1,500 towards our mission and put in some manpower to help us plant over a thousand pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month!

On behalf of the children and families we serve - thank you for taking a stand with us and setting such a SHINING example of ways businesses can make an impact in their community!

Thalhimer’s Roanoke office proudly partnered with Children’s Trust Roanoke Valley in Q2, demonstrating their commitment to making a difference in the community.

As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, team members volunteered their time to help plant pinwheels throughout the community—an important symbol of hope and a visual reminder of the ongoing efforts to prevent child abuse and support local families.

In addition to volunteering, the Roanoke team raised $750 for the organization. Through Thalhimer’s dollar-for-dollar matching program, that contribution was doubled, resulting in a $1,500 donation presented to Children’s Trust Roanoke Valley.

This July, when you say "yes" to rounding up at checkout, you say "yes" to supporting child advocacy through the Children's Trust. Children's Trust is dedicated to preventing child abuse, intervening when abuse has occurred, and advocating for and supporting children and families who have been affected by abuse. The Roanoke Natural Food Co-OP chose Children's Trust as their Change! for our Community recipient in April for Child Abuse Prevention Month. We were thrilled this campaign raised over $3,000 for our Children First Child Abuse Prevention program.
