WALKING WITH GOD | A 5-MINUTE DEVOTION

Do you ever feel like the world is moving too fast? We fill our days with activities, responsibilities, and distractions—even when we try to rest.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us: “Be still, and know that I am God.”

Join Pastor Warren for a five-minute devotion about slowing down, making room for God, and rediscovering the gift of simply being present with Him.

Have you ever heard the saying “walk a mile in my shoes?” Well, the saying is based on the challenge to get to know the person before judging them.
You see, so often though we are quick to judge others when the scripture is clear in that it calls us not to judge but to love, forgive and show mercy to others. In fact, instead of judging we are called to see others as God sees them.
So the next time you feel yourself being quick to judge, step back and instead love as you are loved.

Be Still and Know God -- Psalm 46:10

Have you ever felt like just sitting and doing nothing?

We live in a world that is constantly telling us to do more. Be more productive, do more. Do something.

We've even managed to turn our downtime productive. We exercise to improve our health. Listen to podcasts to learn something, read books to get better at something. We even schedule rest.

But scripture gives us a different kind of invitation.

Be still and know God.

God didn't say, be more productive and know me.

Perhaps Winnie the Pooh was onto something when he said, Doing nothing, often leads to the very best, something.

Maybe that's the case for spirituality.

When we stop rushing, we notice God around us.

We stopped talking. We hear God's voice.

And when we try to stop carrying everything ourselves, we may discover that God is God. And we are not.

God is God, and you are His beloved child. And there is nothing you need to do in this moment to be loved by Him.

You know?

Maybe doing nothing really isn't doing nothing.

Maybe it's leaving room for God.

And who knows?

Maybe it can lead to the best of something.
