Come Sit With Us!!

On September 13th at 10:30 am, we invite YOU to come sit with us as our pastor’s kick off a new sermon series! We offer two services at this time:

- a Traditional service with hymns and a choir in the Sanctuary
- a Modern service with a praise band in the Fellowship Hall

We have a place for children too! Kids are welcome in the Children’s Church where they will have fun and learn about God’s love.

After worship, stick around for some refreshments, meet new people, and discover more about our church!

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14-15, NIV)
This past week some of our students returned to school. In fact, over the next few weeks, students ranging from kindergarten through college will resume their studies in subjects such as math, English, science, and so much more.
But what about us? What about you?
I'm speaking about your spiritual journey. Are you intentionally taking steps to grow and learn in your faith? Better yet, what steps will you take if you need to grow?
So, as the new school year begins and our children are taking time to learn, I also encourage us all to make time for our own spiritual growth so that we will be well equipped to become the person Christ is calling us to be.

What does great faith look like? Come join us Sunday 10:30am online/in-person as we look at this together.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39, NIV)

Do you love others the way God loves you?
God forgives. God shows mercy. God doesn't define you by your past; instead, God sees who you can become and the possibilities that have been placed within you. Most importantly, God loves all.
So, in a world that is quick to decide who belongs and who doesn't, and quick to point fingers at those who are different, choose a different way. Love as God loves you—with grace, compassion, and an open heart.
In fact, you never know how your love and kindness might change someone's life.

Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39b, NIV)
I was recently looking back through some of our church posts. While most of the comments are positive and encouraging, there are always a few from people who don't know me or our church yet feel compelled to criticize—not usually our church specifically, but Christians or Christianity in general.
To those individuals, I simply want to say: I'm sorry.
I'm sure that somewhere along your journey, someone or something that claimed to represent Christ let you down. Perhaps your expectations weren't met, or maybe someone who identified as a Christian hurt you in a way that left deep wounds.
For that, I am truly sorry.
But rather than judging Jesus by the people who have failed you, I invite you to get to know the One who loves you perfectly—Jesus Himself.
One thing I have learned through my own life is that people and institutions will sometimes disappoint us. They are imperfect. But Jesus is not. His love is constant, His grace is sufficient, and His invitation is always open.
If your experience with Christianity has left you discouraged or skeptical, I simply ask that you don't close the door on Christ because of the failures of His followers. Get to know Him for yourself. I believe you'll discover the love, hope, and peace that only He can give.
