Our purpose is to enrich public awareness of the people and events of earlier eras that have woven together the community of Roanoke and its surroundings. To advance this goal we collect, preserve and exhibit images, letters and relics of a bygone era and present the narrative of Native American life, the settlers who displaced them, and the evolution to modern times.

We can help warm up your time in downtown Roanoke! When we renovated Zent Commons we added this glorious fire feature for the chilly weather. You can purchase your own fire fob for other times at the following link. $45 will buy you a renewable fob for one year.
