Restoration Housing

Restoration Housing Restoration Housing identifies and develops the rehabilitation of existing structures that can either be preserved or adapted for reuse as affordable housing.

Creating affordable housing options through the rehabilitation and stewardship of distressed historic properties - strengthening neighborhoods and lives, one house at a time. Restoration Housing’s development works on a unique model, which combines historic tax
credits, in-house schematic drafting, tax credit syndication, and construction management. Ultimately, our developments are intended to enhance both timeless buildings and sustainable neighborhoods.

🏎 Full speed ahead! After our Restoration Kick-Off in November 2025, 319 Dale Avenue in the Belmont Historic District hit an unexpected delay from the City of Roanoke. While the extended timeline was outside of our control, we’re grateful to have reached this important milestone with construction now underway. Our exceptional contractor is doing everything possible to keep the project moving forward. We’ll keep you posted as this long-vacant Queen Anne home is transformed into two dignified apartments for individuals or couples coming out of homelessness.

👋 We are excited to add Trudee Chapman to our team as Finance Manager! With the addition of 15 new units at Trinity Commons, Nina Gibson will now serve solely in property management. Trudee has worked in accounting for various industries and holds a BS in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration from Georgian Court University. She has three adult children and recently moved to a farm in Franklin County with her significant other. Together, they plan to renovate the property and add an orchard, greenhouse, meadow, and more “fur children” to their herd of recently acquired goats. Please help us welcome Trudee!

🎤 On September 17, join us and Keynote Sponsor Carilion Clinic as we explore what it means to grow older without a place to call home. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Fred Karnas whose compassion and deep understanding of our community’s most vulnerable populations have led him to national leadership roles with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of HIV/AIDS Housing, and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness. We can't imagine a more fitting voice to bring our 2026 theme of to life.
