Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates The Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates (RNA) is a thirteen member committee created by City Council.

Members of the RNA include those citizens representing the interests of the neighborhood organizations, the private sector, nonprofit service organizations, local government, and interested citizens. Seven of the thirteen members are appointed by City Council with the remaining six seats selected by the RNA appointees with input from recognized City neighborhood organizations. Mission:
The mission

of the Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates (RNA) is to encourage, educate, and support ‘world class’ neighborhoods in collaboration with the city of Roanoke. Goals:
The RNA is charged with fulfilling eight goals, defined as “duties and responsibilities” in Resolution 36397-061603 passed June 16, 2003, by Roanoke City Council. The goals divide into four categories:
maintaining, updating, and reporting progress on RNA strategic plan and goals, outreach to neighborhood organizations, transfer of information from neighborhoods to the city or city-associated groups, and capacity-building and transfer of information to neighborhood groups.
