Shannon with the first completed pen during today’s PenTurnathon to support Pens for Veterans. In about 7 hours more than 85 pens were completed, with a few more on the way (thanks Vern Danielson!). Several veteran and new woodturners came out to turn their very first pen - all to support the Pens for Vets! Thank you to everyone who showed up today and to everyone who helped organize the event (especially Peter Toch)!

Our donation match challenge is gaining momentum! We have raised nearly $17,000 and only need $8,000 more to meet the $25,000 goal.

Your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact on woodturning education, grants, and outreach. Here's how your gift will make a tangible difference:

- $50 will be doubled to $100 to continue supporting new memberships for women through the WIT grants.
- $100 will be doubled to $200 to help keep admission free to the more than 4,000 visitors a year to AAW’s Gallery of Wood Art.
- $500 will be doubled to $1,000 to support grants of equipment and supplies to middle and high schools, makerspaces, and chapters.
