This year, food is becoming increasingly difficult for our neighbors to secure. Over the holiday season, consider donating holiday staples to our food pantry to help families in need have a good holiday!

Items like mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, and seasonings will go a long way to help out our neighbors. Did you know we have refrigerators and freezers in our pantry? We can accept milk, butter, and other cold items in the pantry and hand them out to our clients!

Our Pathways program has some fun art activities planned in October, and we need your help!

We need empty milk or water jugs (not cartons!), empty shoe boxes or other small boxes, and empty paper towel rolls (not toilet paper!). If you have some over the next few weeks, please bring them to us! We would love to have them so the kids can make some fun Halloween crafts and STEM projects.

Only **4 months left** to fill for Hunger Busters 2027! 🎉🥫

PCC is looking for groups to host a Hunger Buster food drive to help keep our Food Pantry shelves stocked throughout the year.

A Hunger Buster can be hosted by any group — not just churches! Businesses, scout troops, sports teams, school clubs, civic groups, neighborhood groups, Sunday school classes, and community organizations can all take part.

PCC can provide flyers and support to help make your food drive easy and meaningful. Your group’s generosity will help provide food for families and individuals in Southeast Roanoke.

Sharing this important update from City of Roanoke Human/Social Services:

‼️ Fuel Assistance Announcement‼️

Preapprovals for Fuel Assistance have been sent out. If you do not receive a preapproval by October 13, you will need to apply.

Applications will be accepted from October 13 through November 13, and benefits are expected to go out around the beginning of January.

Please share this information with anyone who may need assistance staying warm this winter.

We are grateful to the Virginia Department of Health, our participating community partners, staff, volunteers, donors, and everyone who helped share this important community resource.

Events like this remind us what is possible when organizations come together to care for our neighbors, reduce barriers, and connect people with meaningful support.
