Today we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, resilience, unity, and hope.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, marking a pivotal moment in our nation’s history.

As we reflect on the significance of this day, we celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities and the spirit of inclusion, understanding, and respect that brings us together.

The Junior League of Roanoke Valley believes stronger communities are built when people of all backgrounds are valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Through service, leadership, and community engagement, we remain committed to creating meaningful impact for all.

Today, we celebrate freedom. We honor history. We embrace diversity. And we continue the work of building a brighter future together.

🌈 Happy Pride Month! The Junior League celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and the progress made toward equality, while recognizing the work still needed to create inclusive and accepting spaces.

Together, we can foster stronger communities where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered. Let’s honor diversity, advocate for equity, and uplift one another this Pride Month.
