🌡️ Heads up, neighbors! A dangerous heat wave is expected later this week through the weekend, with temperatures in the upper 90s to near 100° and little overnight relief.
Please stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, and check in on neighbors, friends, and family—especially older adults, young children, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
If you or someone you know needs a cool place to escape the heat, the City of Roanoke has shared a list of local cooling centers below. Let’s look out for one another and stay safe! 💙
Extreme heat is predicted in the forecast every day this week. If you need relief, community cooling centers are open across the City. All Roanoke Public Libraries, Belmont Presbyterian Church and The Hope Center Of 11Th Street will be open during normal business hours with air-conditioned spaces and access to water to help you stay safe.
