We are grateful to the golfers and volunteers who braved the elements and helped make the 5th Annual Agape Open at Ashley Plantation a memorable event!

Rain and cold temperatures made conditions on the course a bit challenging, but the golfers still gave it their best shot!

We are equally grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and donors!

Thanks to everyone who played a part, the proceeds from the tournament will help Agape continue serving our neighbors and carrying out its mission. 💜

🎂 What message does a birthday gift send?

Remembered? Loved? Worth celebrating? YES!

At Agape, one way we celebrate a neighbors’ birthdays is by blessing them with a special gift basket.

If you’d like to join the celebration, purchase an item or two from our October Needs List and drop them off anytime our doors are open.

61,837 pounds of food is a lot of food! But behind every pound is a neighbor, a family, a story.

Over the past three months, Agape provided food to 368 families — 1,191 individuals in all.

Every family is different. Every story is different. Yet each one brings us back to the same truth: it really isn’t about the number of pounds — it’s about the neighbors we are blessed to come alongside.

And that’s what makes every pound matter! 💜

Our desire at Agape is to minister to the whole person by meeting both physical and spiritual needs. We offer mentoring, prayer, and encouragement, along with clothing and household essentials.

For Deb, it means walking alongside a neighbor—offering encouragement and prayer while also helping meet their physical needs.

Deb enjoys sharing her heart for serving with her grandchildren. When she isn’t mentoring, she brings them to Agape so they can help behind the scenes and experience the blessings that come from serving others.

340 packets of Knorr Rice and Pasta Sides. Now what? 🤔

For now, they’re sitting on our pantry shelves, sorted, stocked, and ready for the neighbors who will come through our doors. And chances are, they won’t be there for very long.

As neighbors arrive, groceries are gathered, shopping carts are filled, and our loaders pack everything into their cars.

And those 340 packets? They were donated by just a small handful of neighbors through the Woodhaven Estates Neighborhood PORCH.

From their porches to our pantry shelves, those 340 packets will soon be part of meals on the tables of neighbors they may never meet. 💜

🌎What does Guatemala have to do with birthdays at Agape?

When a neighbor comes to Agape during their birthday month, there’s always a little something special waiting for them…

For some, that little something special will be a beautiful donated basket made by local artisans in Guatemala. These handmade baskets traveled across many miles before reaching us and eventually the hands and heart of a neighbor.

Celebrating a birthday may seem like a small part of what happens at Agape, but it's one way to let our neighbors know that their life is meaningful and their birthday is worth celebrating.

If you stand still around here long enough, somebody will probably hand you a box or two. 😂

There’s always something coming in, going out, being sorted, packed, carried—or swept up.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it are a whole lot of hands, young and old, simply showing up and doing whatever needs to be done.

Different ages. Different tasks. One shared desire to serve our neighbors well. 💜
