How many of Virginia's Bald Eagles will die of lead poisoning before we decide to make a change? Through my reporting over the years, I've learned that there isn't enough awareness or understanding about the issue and what steps can be taken to fix it. Lead poisoning is a preventable death. I'm working on a series of reports to help educate the public about prevention. Please watch my latest story about this beautiful Bald Eagle out of Craig County, the photographer who followed her for nearly 10 years, and the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke who tried to save her.

Let’s help Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke.

SAVE THE DATE! Next week is Smile Mountain Lake Gives (SML Gives) on March 18th!!! In the last two years alone, our friends at the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke have admitted 1,015 animals from the Lake and its surrounding communities in Franklin and Bedford counties. By donating, you're helping to ensure the wildlife center can continue to provide care. LAT Dentistry has pledged to donate $5000!

SWVAWCR needs help!!!!

UPDATE: HELP HAS BEEN FOUND!!!! Thank you to everyone who reached out to lend us a helping hand!!!

Do you or someone you know have a snow plow? We could use a hand! âť„

Coleman Road is technically accessible via 4WD/AWD vehicles, but the ETA for a larger plow coming through to help scrape our driveway keeps getting pushed back. The snow is packed like concrete, and our staff on duty are getting nervous about sliding when they try to leave this evening. They're confident drivers in the snow, but we want to make things as safe as possible for them on this winding mountain road!

If you're able to help us out today, please give us a call at 540-798-8545.

Thank you all! Stay safe and warm, y'all! ❤
