Sure seems like summer out here! Hard chargers from Midland Credit Management can attest to that! This awesome group has teamed up with the Builders Club and other volunteers to get a ton of hours in on the WSLS 10 Home for Good. This project is going up quick!!

What is MCM? Midland Credit Management is a nationwide debt purchasing and account-servicing company and a subsidiary of Encore Capital Group. It acquires or manages past-due consumer accounts and works with individuals to verify balances, arrange payments, and explore options for resolving outstanding financial obligations.

The company primarily serves consumers whose delinquent accounts originated with banks, credit unions, retailers, utility providers, and other lenders.

Midland Credit Management also participates in community-service and corporate-responsibility programs focused on financial literacy and economic empowerment. Its employees volunteer with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, and the company supports volunteer work through paid volunteer time, employee grants, and matching charitable donations.

Habitat supporters, we have a unique opportunity for YOU to be part of a historic build right here in Roanoke! We recently broke ground on a very special project, and the timing couldn't be more meaningful.

This year, Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley celebrates 40 years of building homes, strengthening communities, and changing lives.

Over the past four decades, we've completed 300 homes throughout the Valley, helping more than 1,200 neighbors, friends, and family members achieve the dream of affordable homeownership.

To celebrate this milestone, we're launching a special project called The Community House.

The goal of The Community House is simple: bring our community together in celebration of the success, compassion, and partnership that make our mission possible.

This home will stand as a symbol of what can happen when people unite around hope, love, and opportunity. This is why we're seeking 200 Community Partners who want to be part of this historic effort. This program is designed to bring together individuals, businesses, churches, civic groups, and organizations under a shared commitment to building stronger families and stronger communities.

How can you get involved?

For just $125/square foot, you can invest in The Community House. Whether you choose to sponsor one square foot or twenty, your contribution will help build more than a house—it will help build hope.

As a token of our appreciation, every Community Partner will receive a Certificate of Investment featuring our exclusive 40th Anniversary embossed seal.

We're excited to share that we're already making progress and have reached 7% of our fundraising goal, thanks in part to the support of The Crouch Team

Interested in becoming a Community Partner? 📧 Reach out to [email protected] for more information and to reserve your place in this historic build.

Work continues on the Build It Together project, a unique effort that brings two congregations together for more than just a gracious offering.

Here, volunteers from St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Builders Club, and several other helping hands are working side by side to move this home forward.

St. John’s has once again joined forces with Second Presbyterian Church for this shared build celebrating Partners in Prosperity.

Through this project, the two congregations are taking on their second home together and will spend hundreds of hours helping bring it to completion. The home is expected to be finished by the end of the summer.

Partnerships like this are a powerful example of what happens when faith communities put their values into action. This effort is bringing members of the congregations closer to one another while also creating a meaningful connection with the partner family who will eventually purchase the home.

Many thanks to St. John’s and Second Pres for continuing to build together!

On such a dreary, wet, cold day we hope these awesome pictures from yesterday's build will brighten things up.

Here we have members of St. John's Episcopal Church working shoulder-to-shoulder with members of the Builders Club, plus a few others.

This year, St. John's has once again teamed up with Second Presbyterian Church for a joint build celebrating partners in prosperity. This is the second home the two congregations have taken on, in a project we call "Build it Together".

We love these partnerships as members of our religious community are able to create a program that brings the congregations closer together, not only among themselves, but with the partner family that will eventually purchase this home.

Thank you, St. John's and Second Pres!

Habitat-Roanoke is VERY excited about our new relationship with New River Electrical!! This incredible company had an awesome "kickoff" celebration to get the team in the spirit. One of the tasks during this event was for teams to build a Lego house! How did they do??

Not only did this new sponsorship come with an incredible gift, but New River Electric is also hosting a golf tournament this October, with Habitat as the beneficiary!! We are so excited to have such a great company in our corner.

Thank you 1,000x New River Electrical!

It is unbelievable that another WSLS Home for Good is underway!

Now in the 12th year, this annual event is always such a great way to help us get another affordable home built here in the Roanoke Valley.

This year's homebuyer is a hard-working single mother of eight! Talk about getting a bang for your buck! By November, this family will finally have a place called home.

Our family will be purchasing their home right next to a home we built last year. Building homes and communities! Of course, this awesome project would not be possible without our generous corporate partners, who have come together with funding and volunteers to help our homebuyer family make that leap into home ownership.

Thanks to all of our great sponsors this year, including, Bower Heating & Air Conditioning, Bank of Botetourt, Southern Team Automall, Bug Man Exterminating, S.J. Neathawk Lumber, Ideal Cabinets Design Studio, Marvin, Blankenship Roofing, and WSLS 10 / WSLS.com!

300 homes and 40 years later, Habitat Roanoke is still building! See less
