Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Department of Virginia Employment Committee

The committee provides employment related information and resources to include upcoming job fairs, employment opportunities, education and training opportunities and webinars. The DAV Department of Virginia Employment Committee:

• coordinates with the DAV National Employment Program to assist disabled veterans and their

spouses with entry into the job market

• assists disabled veterans seeking employment by providing information on a range of topics such as job search tools/tips, employment opportunities, career assessments, education and training, resume preparation, interview preparation and other available services

• works closely with the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialists and other organizations to provide job referral and placement programs to assist veterans and strives to ensure that disabled veterans receive preference in obtaining employment

• periodically conducts and/or assists with job/hiring fairs at various locations throughout Virginia.
