Thank you!

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt appreciation and admiration to the extraordinary Halifax County Heroes of Valor Award recipients and their sponsors for their generous support. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional courage, selflessness, and dedication to serving our beloved Halifax County.

Special thanks to Ms. Kim Mack, District Director for her instrumental role in orchestrating the Honorable keynote address by US Congressman Don Davis. His passionate and patriotic words marked this historic day with profound significance, marking this historic day, 248 years ago, the Halifax Resolves, April 12, 1776, now recognized as the Birthplace of America’s Independence. Congressman Davis, presented, Halifax County Board of Commissioners, Chair Vernon Bryant and Vice Chair, Linda Brewer with an official US House of Representatives proclamation and a US flag, flown over the Capitol. Congressman Davis will read the proclamation on the House Floor, which will be recorded in the Library of Congress. Do you feel proud!

Thanks to Chairman Bryant for honoring and presenting our Valor Awards with their Halifax County Heroes of Valor Award to each honoree, see below.

A huge thank you to our Halifax County Semi Quincentennial Commissioners, Halifax 250, Inc Halifax County Events and Community Stakeholders Committees, Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau, President Lori Medlin, and team, Halifax County Economic Development, Executive Director, Cathy Scott, and our volunteers who worked so hard over the past year to plan this Birthplace of America's Red, White and Blue Stakeholders kickoff Celebration.

A special mention to Mr. Ken Wilson for his exceptional leadership of the color guards’ program, featuring the Sons of the American Revolution and Halifax County High School JROTC student color guard. Their remarkable display of patriotism was truly inspiring.

Heartfelt thanks to all who generously donated door prizes, contributing to the excitement of the event, and congratulations to the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw, Thomas Barrett, Jr. We deeply appreciate Tom for his selfless donation of his winnings back to Halifax 250, Inc., exemplifying the spirit of community and generosity.
