ANNAPOLIS, MD — The 2026 Maryland State Galactic Pistol Alliance (GPA) Championship, held September 11–12 at Anne Arundel Fish & Game (AAFG), brought together more than 200 competitors for a weekend of competitive shooting, remembrance and charitable fundraising.

Dedicated to honoring the first responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001, the championship raised $18,001 in cash donations for the 100 Club of Anne Arundel County.

Richard Simmons, Championship Match Director and AAFG Club Chairman, formally presented the donation to Ryan Frashure, Vice President of the 100 Club and Deputy Chief of Police, during the organization’s annual banquet.

A record-breaking championship

The 2026 championship was the largest competitive shooting event ever hosted at Anne Arundel Fish & Game. More than 200 shooters competed across 10 dynamic and challenging stages designed to test accuracy, speed and firearm-handling skills.

The event brought together competitors, corporate sponsors, local businesses and dedicated volunteers in a shared commitment to honoring first responders and supporting their families.

Complete championship standings, division placements and individual stage scores are available through the official PractiScore results .

Supporting those who serve

The $18,001 donation represents the collective generosity of the competitive shooting community and the many sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the championship.

The 100 Club of Anne Arundel County provides financial assistance to public safety personnel and their families, particularly those affected by line-of-duty deaths and serious injuries.

The championship also recognized the courage and sacrifice of law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and other first responders who protect their communities.

Recognizing our sponsors and volunteers

The success of this year’s championship would not have been possible without the contributions of its corporate sponsors, Chief Safety Officers, Safety Officers and volunteer staff.

Their commitment helped deliver a memorable competitive shooting event while generating substantial financial support for the first-responder community.

Looking ahead to 2027

Anne Arundel Fish & Game looks forward to continuing its annual September 11 tribute to first responders with the 2027 Maryland State Championship.

Competitors, sponsors and supporters are encouraged to visit the AAFG Action Pistol page for photographs, videos and information about upcoming events.
