Hello, everyone! This is a long one, but please read! Thank you! ~Noelle
Main Street Rivesville WV Nonprofit Organization Inc. (EIN 85-1783283) is a small 501(c)(3) based in Rivesville, West Virginia. As a tiny volunteer-driven group with no large staff, we rely heavily on a handful of dedicated board members and community helpers to make everything happen.
Our mission is to provide fundraising activities that support the needs of our town while hosting community events that bring residents together and build local pride. We describe ourselves as “few but mighty” — we personally handle planning, setup, decorating, and ex*****on for all our programs.
What We Do –
In addition to our family-friendly events, we run the popular Hometown Heroes Banner Program. This initiative honors local veterans, active-duty service members, first responders (police, fire, EMS), by displaying personalized vinyl banners along Main Street and other prominent spots in town.
• Banners typically go up around Memorial Day and stay through the fall.
• Each banner features a photo and details about the honoree.
• Applications are currently closed for the 2026 year.
Our events are especially joyful for local children and families:
• Easter Egg Hunt, Prize Give-Away & Visit with the Easter Bunny — Held in partnership with the Rivesville School Foundation at Rivesville Elementary/Middle School.
•Christmas Parade on Main Street — A festive highlight with vendors, a lively parade down Main Street, Santa visits, and activities for kids. Hundreds attend each year.
These kid-focused events create free, memorable experiences while strengthening family and community bonds.
Big Need for Volunteers of All Kinds:
Because our organization is so small, volunteers are essential for every aspect of our work — from planning and promoting events, to setup/teardown, decorating, registration help, crowd management, banner application processing, and more. We welcome people of all ages and skill levels: parents, grandparents, teens, retirees, or anyone willing to pitch in. Even a few hours during an event or program can make a huge difference.
We are also actively seeking new board members. My role as Secretary will become vacant on June 1st. I’ll still be around to help with the transition as much as I can, but fresh voices and energy are needed to keep these wonderful programs and events going strong for our kids, veterans, and the whole town.
If you’re in or near Rivesville and want to help honor local heroes, create fun for children, or support community pride, this is a great way to get involved!
