We’ve taken on four owner surrender dogs in the last two months. The first senior boy is with a permanent foster living the farm life. Our super senior little girl came to us suffering from malnutrition and years of neglect. She was placed with a hospice foster where she gained weight and received medication to control her advanced arthritis. She got to live the princess life. Sadly, we lost her a week ago.
Another agency connected us with a homeless (her words) woman in Flint who desperately wanted a better situation for her dog and every agency she contacted told her they were full. Dennis and I drove to Flint for a very emotional transfer. This girl went directly to the vet to get current on vaccinations. We had a foster waiting for a working type breed dog. She was fostered for three days an officially adopted into the family. Our fourth surrender was a two day old puppy that the mother dog was actively trying to eliminate. Unfortunately the puppy had sustained life threatening injuries and although our transporter was able to make it to MSU with the puppy still alive, it was determined that beyond the immediate emergency, the puppy was most likely suffering from a congenital defect and was humanely euthanized. The need is never ending. We are grateful to everyone that helps us create an opportunity for health, happiness, and peace. 💜💜💜
