"My name is Otis, and I’m from Sacramento, California. My life was in utter turmoil due to my addiction to alcohol. I made so many bad decisions that left me wounded and scarred. I was embroiled in toxic relationships, anything to fill the void I felt inside. I was shot multiple times and on life support; I tried to numb the pain with drugs and alcohol, which led to becoming homeless.

My life had hit rock bottom.

There was a Pastor where I lived who would come and pick up the homeless to take them to church and feed them a meal after service. I gave him a chance, and it ended up being a divine appointment. Pastor Calvin Williams’ testimony would change my life drastically. He had come from a background of addiction and was set free by Jesus Christ through a place called the Lighthouse Faith Home.

I chose to follow the voice of God telling me to go. After nine days of detoxing and a flight from Mississippi, I made it to the Lighthouse and entered the Faith Home Ministry. Here, God turned my wounds into the scars of my testimony. He healed me and set me free.

My restoration came from hearing the voice of God, surrendering, and coming out of the darkness into His Light. I found my true identity in Christ Jesus, and now I’m a part of a mighty group of men of God… men of excellence and integrity!"

Meet Kendrick! Kendrick is graduating from the Faith Home Ministry THIS SUNDAY at 10am, and YOU are invited to join the celebration!

"My name is Kendrick. I’m 33 years old and I’m from Fort Myers, Florida. I was raised in the church, but from childhood I struggled to find my identity and my purpose. I found the acceptance I was looking for in the streets and with corrupt company. By the age of 17, I was carrying illegal concealed weapons, committing crimes, and using drugs. I was trying to fill a void with all the wrong things, which only made things worse.

I finally got to the point where I was shot twice in an altercation that left me with two bullets in my leg, one that was an inch away from my artery. Instead of realizing God had saved my life, I became addicted to pain pills, and became numb to everything. I believed that the higher I got, the less I would feel the pain I was running from. After multiple jail sentences, I was at the end of my rope. I had nothing left.

Through a program called Teen Challenge, I was introduced to a man named Pastor Solomon. Pastor Solomon was a Faith Home Graduate, and he recommended a place called the Lighthouse Faith Home to me. I knew this was what I needed, where God was telling me to go. The greatest moments of my life were waiting for me in this place. I entered a Bible Boot Camp and realized I was home.

So much healing has taken place in my life. I know who I am in Christ, and that God answered the prayers of my praying momma by bringing me here, to His will. I fell in love with Jesus, and now my future is bright, because it’s found in Him!"

"My name is Marcus, and I’m from Orlando, Florida. I come from a background of crime, violence, and addiction. At the age of 5, I lost my father and my sister to AIDS from their drug use. Growing up, I was full of hurt, anger, and pain and I acted those feelings out through violence. I started getting arrested at a young age, and grew up in the system from juvenile hall to prison.

Death was chasing me through my adult life. I overdosed multiple times. I was involved in gun violence and was even poisoned through an attempt to take my life. Finally, I died… my daughter found me, overdosed and drowned in my own vomit. I was rushed to the hospital and brought back, but remained on life support with the doctors planning to remove me from it to see if I would breathe on my own. I had a friend there with me who laid her hand on mine and prayed to God to save me… and when they removed me from life support, I began to breathe on my own and finally woke up. God saved my life.

I had lost everything… I lost my family, my mind, and even my life. I had nothing to lose, but everything to gain. My brother told me about a place called the Lighthouse, and at that moment, I knew God was leading me. I came to the Faith Home and encountered Jesus Christ Himself… and I have not been the same since.

Jesus took my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh. He put His Spirit in me and taught me to renew my mind to His Word. I belong to Jesus Christ now, and I am living a new life! It hasn’t been easy, but I learned to depend on Him and to trust Him, and now I have a real, personal relationship with Jesus that changed everything. Now, my life will testify to the glory of God and His Son, Jesus Christ!"

Meet Scott! He will be graduating from the Faith Home Ministry THIS SUNDAY at 10am! Join us to celebrate, and check out his testimony:

"My name is Scott, and I was born on June 17th, 1962 as the youngest of 8 children. Family circumstances found me in foster care at the age of 3 or 4 with a foster family who had 13 children of their own. I was raised on a farm and taught the value of hard work. Growing up, I was unaware of a separate biological family, and when I discovered I had come from another family, I was hurt and confused. After meeting my biological mother, she tried to build a relationship, but it never seemed to pan out.

After that experience, I wouldn’t let others get too close to me. That carried into my marriage in 1987. I was married with 7 children, but not even they could get close. I was raised in the church of Latter Day Saints, and I hid behind religion, pride, and self-pity. I always had a smile on my face, but I was fighting an inner battle and losing. I tried to fill the emptiness inside with food, pornography… but nothing could take it away. I was miserable.

Finally, in a place of brokenness and despair, God led me 2,600 miles away to a place called the Faith Home in Riverview, Florida. It was here that I developed a real relationship with Jesus Christ, and that emptiness was finally filled! The weight from bad eating habits dropped off, the desire for lust and sin was broken, and today, I can say that I am a new creation in Christ, full of faith, hope, and love. My identity is now in Him, and I have a hope for tomorrow!"
