National Preparedness Level Raised to Level 4

The National Multi-Agency Coordination Group (NMAC) has raised the National Wildland Fire Preparedness Level to Level 4, signaling a significant increase in wildfire activity across the country. At this level, multiple geographic areas are experiencing large, complex wildfires, and firefighting resources are becoming increasingly committed nationwide.

With wildfire danger continuing to increase, we also want to remind everyone that Fremont County Fire Restrictions go into effect today, June 29. Please ensure you are familiar with and follow all fire restrictions while enjoying the outdoors.

Help prevent human-caused wildfires by:
🔥 Avoiding activities that can create sparks in dry vegetation.
🚗 Never parking vehicles on dry grass.
🏕️ Ensuring campfires are completely extinguished where permitted.
🚛 Securing trailer chains to prevent roadside sparks.
🚫 Following all local fire restrictions and Red Flag Warnings.

Every wildfire prevented helps keep firefighters and critical resources available for communities that need them most.

As we move into the heart of wildfire season, we ask everyone to do their part to help protect our communities, public lands, and first responders.

Stay alert. Stay prepared. Prevent wildfires
