Sierra Middle PTSA had the honor of awarding 4 recipients with The Joylen Mackey Future Leader Scholarship after her tragic passing All of the students embodied Joylen's leadership characteristics on the field, in education, a leader on campus and in their community We were lucky enough to have the Mackey family to present the scholarships to the 4 recipients at a middle school level Sierra Middle PTSA hopes to continue this program annually to carry on Joylen's spirit and legacy here a at Sierra Middle School through this scholarship

Thank you to all of the Sierra MS students who applied for The Joylen Mackey Future Leader Scholarship we appreciate all of your hard work and effort you put forth to apply We are happy to announce that instead of choosing 2 recipients to receive $200 each Sierra PTSA has decided to award $200 to 4 recipients. The 4 recipients who will receive these scholarships have not only shown great leadership in school on and off the field but also in their community The Scholarship Recipients will be announced next week and we just wanted to thank our Sierra MS community for supporting Sierra PTSA this year we wouldn't be able to do this without you . We hope that each year we can continue to give this scholarship out to more recipients in remembrance of Joylen Mackey who was a great student leader on and off the field at Sierra MS and inspired so many .

Today in Partnership with Sierra MS , Sierra Middle PTSA was able recognize and celebrate 5 students who over the past 2 years have had perfect attendance some have had perfect attendance since Kindergarten which we all know is no easy thing to accomplish but their dedication to show up everyday for their education should be celebrated. We provided lunch from and medals to celebrate this accomplishment 🎉🎉🎉
