The Tzu Chi Collegiate Association (Tzu Ching) is the collegiate organization that carries out the missions of the international Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation--charity, medicine, education, and humanitarian culture. The Tzu Ching Highlanders (UCR Chapter) provides events and an opportunity for volunteer work within the local area that is rewarding, meaningful, and manageable during one's busy colleg

e life. Some examples of events include hosting fun classes such as vegetarian cooking and urban gardening to promote sustainable living, reaching out to low income families at Tzu Chi free medical clinics, assisting in Tzu Chi's cultural programs, and many more! LINKS

HOW TO JOIN
There are no dues or membership fees. You are free to join at any time, even if you were not able to make it to orientation! Like our page and join our mailing list to receive our updates! However to earn the uniform, you must complete 20 hours of service through us or other service organizations. GLOBAL TZU CHI FOUNDATION
“Tzu Chi”, meaning “serving with compassion”, was established in 1966 by Master Cheng Yen, a Buddhist nun, on a mission of charity in Taiwan. For more than forty years, the foundation has expanded with branches throughout the world to keep contributing to better social and community services, medical care, education and humanism. Today, Tzu Chi has more than five million members of different religious and cultural backgrounds.

Thank you to everyone who came to our graduation and tea ceremony! We honored all of our seniors and presented uniforms to members who reached 20 hours of volunteering for Tzu Ching! We are so proud of all our graduates, we can’t wait for them to achieve great things!

We hope everyone has a great rest of summer, and can’t wait to see all of you back in the fall!

On 5/21, UCR Tzu Ching volunteers helped at a food distribution in San Bernardino! Here, volunteers assisted with traffic control and loading packages into cars. In total, we were able to serve more than 264 families!

Hello everyone! As spring quarter approaches, we’d like to announce UCR Tzu Ching’s annual community day event, which will he a clean up/hike up Mt. Rubidoux this coming Saturday!

We will be cleaning the trail of any trash in addition to our hike, which will be a great for members to bond and socialize !

Hello everyone! On Sunday, 3/12, UCR Tzu Ching will be participating in a medical outreach event!

In medical outreaches, volunteers get to assist with several health stations that are providing free clinical services. These include Optometry, Dentistry, Triage, and more!

This is a good way to get some exposure to some health professions, as well as direct patients and work with professionals!
