Who We Are
Inland Empire Software Development (IESD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to increasing awareness of technology and open source software in the Inland Empire. We aim to do this by bringing community members together to network, learn, gain experience and share knowledge. IESD is led by a group of volunteers who are passionate about technology and their community.
Our initiative involves exposing community members to free and open source software (FOSS). Regardless of skill level, anyone can contribute to open source software and benefit from it. Contributors will further develop their knowledge of current technological advances, gain invaluable experience from working with new technology and will be able to connect with professionals in the industry. We have industry professionals that volunteer to share their experience in the industry, speak about relevant technology, provide guidance and become network contacts for our members. We also partner with local small businesses that require the many skills our members have to offer, thus providing our members real world experience, references and community benefits along with discounts at local businesses.
Our mission at IESD is two-fold. First, we want to help increase the tech footprint of the Inland Empire by aiding businesses and/or startups in employing local Inland Empire developers. Second, by helping developers learn, network and find employment locally, we decrease brain drain and increase the tech presence in the Inland Empire. By supporting local startups and keeping tech jobs filled by local talent, we also help open up more business opportunities in other sectors of the workforce.
