This is why our Nationwide Men 2 Program exists.

Shedric Roberts is a husband, a father of four and a breast cancer patient.

He also lives with multiple sclerosis. In December 2025, doctors told him he had Stage 2 HER2-positive breast cancer.

Many people do not know men can get it.

About 2,800 men in the U.S. are diagnosed each year, according to American Cancer Society estimates. It is rare, so symptoms can be missed.

Shedric's treatment is long.

He is facing surgeries and chemotherapy. His family is also carrying the emotional and financial weight.

His wife, LaShawndra, decided to turn pain into purpose.

Together they started HISFight, Inc., a Georgia nonprofit. It focuses on male breast cancer awareness, early detection and men's health.

Early detection matters.

A lump, changes around the ni**le or other unusual symptoms should be checked by a doctor. They should not be ignored.

It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

LaShawndra is sharing Shedric's story to reach a husband, father, brother or son in time.

Shedric is still fighting his own battle.

Even so, the family is working to help others. They have four children.

MEN GET BREAST CANCER TOO!

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Michael, a male breast cancer survivor who reminds us why The CARE Project’s Men 2 Program is so important.

After developing lymphedema following breast cancer treatment, Michael faced challenges obtaining the compression sleeves he needed in his home country. Through TCP’s commitment to supporting ALL breast cancer survivors, we were able to help him access these essential garments.

💙 Breast cancer does not discriminate, and neither does CARE.

We are grateful for our partnership with LympheDIVAs which helps us provide compression garments to survivors like Michael.

Today, we proudly recognize Kenneth Gomez, a Metastatic Breast Cancer Thriver and valued member of The CARE Project’s Men 2 family.

Kenneth’s journey is a powerful reminder that men get breast cancer, too, and their voices deserve to be heard, their struggles acknowledged, and their lives supported.

Michelle’s heartfelt words remind us of something incredibly important: Sometimes being strong means having a safe place where you don’t have to be strong at all.

Living with metastatic breast cancer brings challenges that extend far beyond the physical. Having a community where you feel seen, heard, understood, and loved can make all the difference.

At The CARE Project, our Survivor Socials are about more than gathering together. They’re about creating meaningful connections, building friendships, sharing experiences, and reminding one another that nobody has to walk this journey alone.

Eric and his family have been part of The CARE Project’s Men 2 family for years. As a recipient of our Marlyn Washburn Grant, Eric reminds us why our mission matters so deeply.

His heartfelt words about our beloved Pat Washburn, who dedicated herself to advocating for men with breast cancer, are a beautiful reminder that the love and support we give can leave a lasting impact.

Metastatic breast cancer does not discriminate. Men get breast cancer, too. Their voices, their stories, and their lives matter.
