UCR SEARCH Center SEARCH is the University of California's first family autism resource center.

As the first center of its kind in the UC system, SEARCH is designed to help families wade through the overwhelming varieties of services and treatments available for autism spectrum disorders. While simultaneously training the next generation of autism researchers and educators, our goal is to help reduce the amount of stress that families experience in attempting to learn about autism and access appropriate programs. Please join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary, Autism Goes to College, co-sponsored by the SEARCH Autism Center at UC Riverside and California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. We are showing this film in honor of April's Autism Acceptance Month.

The documentary follows five students on the autism spectrum, as they navigate college life. The students share their unique journeys -- how they got to college, the challenges (and joys) while there, and what they aspire to do after. The film will be followed by a Q & A session, including one of the film “stars,” the film’s Director, Executive Producer, and the Patricia Herrera from SCDD.

This 2024, let's make professional development a priority! Our Smooth Sailing StudyPD program, funded by the U.S. Dept of Education, is perfect for K-2nd grade teachers in General Ed looking to enhance their skills in understanding and supporting autistic students.

What's in store for you:
✅ 4-week program (12 hrs total)
✅ 10 CEs for CA teachers, 12 PDPs for MA teachers
✅ Participating teachers will receive a payment of $300
✅ Self-paced online didactics (8 hrs)
