The Riverside Arts Academy is an arts-based youth development program in the City of Riverside that uses the performing arts as vehicles to help build skills and foster positive attitudes and behavior among under served young people through leadership and self-esteem building programming. THE BENEFITS OF SUPPORTING THE ARTS:

• Creativity and innovation are vital to a child’s success in the world today

• Through artistic expression youth are able to process their feelings, accept, heal, and grow

• The artistic and creative process is therapeutic in itself and leads to a healthy, well-rounded life

• The arts allow youth to express themselves in positive ways
• The arts allow youth the opportunity to build a positive relationship and trust with adults and peers
• The arts build self-confidence and self-esteem…youth learn to trust themselves
• The arts build critical creative capacity that prepares youth for the workforce
• The arts increase the ability to control behavior and emotions
• The arts teach important life skills such as sharing, teamwork and problem solving
• There is no "right" or "wrong" in the creative process
• The arts help empower youth to reject negative influences such as gangs and drugs

We’re pleased to welcome Jen Kanter as the Riverside Arts Academy’s new Director of Revenue Development!

With more than two decades of experience in arts, culture, and strategic partnerships, Jen joins RAA following her tenure as Director of Marketing and Communications at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture and the Riverside Art Museum. Her career also includes leadership roles with AMC Networks, IFC Films, and Ovation Media.

A dedicated advocate for equitable access to the arts, Jen will work to expand community partnerships, strengthen philanthropic support, and create new opportunities for young musicians throughout the Inland Empire.

Mariachi Campana de Riverside was proud to perform at the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce’s Good Morning Riverside event this morning, held at the historic Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our music with Riverside’s business and community leaders and celebrate the community we’re proud to call home.

Thank you to ABC7 Eyewitness News for recognizing Mariachi Campana de Riverside this morning and celebrating their historic 2026 Mariachi Nationals Championship as part of Hispanic Heritage Month!

We’re honored to see the artistry, dedication, and accomplishments of our young musicians celebrated across Southern California.

And bravo to Campana musicians Araceli and Rooney, who stepped in front of the camera to share their voices and experiences with legendary Phillip Palmer. 🎶

The Riverside Arts Academy is still welcoming musicians for our 2026/27 season! RYO and Overture bring together young artists from across the Inland Empire to grow, perform, and experience what it means to be part of an orchestra. 🎻

We’re currently seeking multiple oboe, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, viola, cello, and bass players to fill up our two groups.

RAA went international last week! 🇦🇺

Alex Treviño II, Christopher Rubalcava, and Kevin Castrejon Peralta headed down under as members of Mariachi Rams, the official mariachi of the Los Angeles Rams and the first Mariachi of an NFL team!

Whether in Riverside or Australia, we’re proud to see members of our RAA Faculty sharing their artistry, musicianship, and the sound of mariachi across the globe.
