The Cole Accolades Continue a Growing Tradition of Honoring Women in Manufactured Housing:
For the third consecutive year, industry leaders, colleagues, family, and friends gathered at the Park Club in Costa Mesa to celebrate an inspiring group of women whose careers have helped shape California's manufactured housing industry.
Hosted by Donna and Barry Cole, the Cole Accolades have quickly become one of the industry's most meaningful traditions. What began as a small luncheon has grown into an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing women whose leadership, professionalism and behind-the-scenes contributions have left a lasting impact on manufactured housing.
During his opening remarks, Barry shared the story behind the event. After years of informal industry lunches, several women jokingly pointed out that while many of their male colleagues had been recognized throughout their careers, countless accomplished women had quietly made significant contributions without receiving the recognition they deserved. That conversation inspired Barry to create an event devoted to celebrating the women who have helped build and strengthen the industry.
Guests were welcomed with a reception designed to encourage conversation and connection. In true Barry Cole fashion, there was one unexpected twist, no name badges. Barry explained that the decision was intentional, not only to keep photographs looking their best, but also to encourage attendees to introduce themselves, reconnect with long-term colleagues, and meet someone new. It was a simple touch that reflected the welcoming spirit of the afternoon.
Barry also emphasized that the Cole Accolades were created to recognize women from every corner of the manufactured housing industry, recognizing those who have built successful careers of their own, as well as those whose dedication and leadership have helped make their companies, coworkers and the industry itself stronger. As the event continues to grow, he encouraged attendees and industry organizations to help identify future honorees so that more deserving women can be recognized in the years ahead.

The afternoon also included a special posthumous recognition for Lynn Plumlee, whose contributions to the industry continue to be remembered by those who had the privilege of working alongside her. Lynn's mother, Peggy Domasin, accepted the honor on Lynn's behalf, creating one of the day's most heartfelt moments.
As each recipient shared a few words about their career and journey in manufactured housing, one thing became clear: while every story was unique, each reflected the dedication, professionalism, and commitment that continues to move California's manufactured housing industry forward.
